In 2007, Mushrooms and Hair were used to clean up the Cosco Busan oil spill in the San Francisco Bay. A group of volunteers were able to absorb slicks of oil on the shore that washed up since the Cosco Busan cargo ship spill 58,000 gallons of oil. Could something on a larger scale work for the Gulf of Mexico spill?
